Seijin no Hi

Today was another of Japan’s national holidays – Seijin no Hi – or basically, coming of age day. It’s the day when 20 year olds put on the kimonos, suits, or generally smart stuff and go out, and get a lot of pictures taken. As is often mentioned – Japan’s legal age for drinking alcohol, voting and smoking are all 20.

Since I’m a little over 20, I celebrated on their behalf by having a beer, not smoking and complaining that the party I vote for never wins elections. Aside from that, I cooked, cleaned, played City of Heroes and walked around Kachidoki bayside.
