I maintain a very minimal Facebook page which I check maybe twice a month now, as I hinted at a while ago. I’m just not the social network site kind of person. Facebook is kind of funky, but I still conduct most of my communication via IM and e-mail. Anyway, with Facebook’s Beacon system, and the fact that you opt out rather than opt in, I decided to go and opt out, though it’s not amazingly clear that you have opted out. No Beacon here…
Personally, as I’m not a zealot, this wont impact me much either, but I wonder if this is the beginning of the decline of Facebook. Or even if I’d notice. But hey, if you want to contact me, give it a try!
